Last week we began our last unit, "Water and Watersheds," and took a quiz on the properties of water on Friday. This quiz grade is reflected on Blackboard and will be returned on Monday. More importantly, two grades will be issued to all students on Monday (as long as the printer is working) as well; their current 4th nine weeks interim grade and their year's average in science. I will be mailing interims and year's averages for those who have D's or F's at the end of the week, as well. Students who maintain at least a B average (86.5 and above) will be exempt from their final exam!
We will cover physical and chemical weathering this week and will conclude the unit as we study watersheds and the bodies of water into which they feed.
By popular demand: Students who would like to achieve extra credit may turn in "Water in the News" articles from newspapers or magazines (sorry- no Internet articles allowed). They must be able and willing to explain the article to their class. Each article is worth 5 points, and at this time I have not put a limit on the number of articles that may be turned in.
