Jan. 31-Feb. 4: Project Week!

This week all students will be working on their solar system project. Time will be spent in class working on the project, but any project that is not finished by Friday must be completed at home over the weekend. All projects must be turned in for a 200 point grade on Monday, February 7. (see Blackboard Content link for project details)
  • Monday: (return Friday quiz; make-up quizzes today for those absent on Friday) Students will be given Notepage #2 and Our Solar System, background information that will help them with their solar system project. They will also randomly select one of the 14 objects in our solar system on which their project will be based.
  • Tuesday- No School: Parent/Teacher conference day. With 139 students, I can only see a small percentage of the parents whose children I teach. I apologize if you were not able to see me during conference day, and invite you to contact me for an after-school or lunch-time conference.
  • Wednesday: Students will receive project questions for their object. They will use class time to read and research their object, writing the answers to their questions on notebook paper.
  • Thursday: Students will be given project paper, and we will fold the paper into tri-folded sections, numbering each section. Students will begin putting graphic representations of project answers in each section of their trifolded paper. These trifold papers should resemble a travel brochure and will be displayed in the hallway when completed.
  • Friday: Last class period to complete answers and trifold paper. Project must be turned in by end of class period.
