Happy 2011! This Week in Science

This week we will slowly work into an exam review which will culminate on Thursday and Friday. Next week's exam schedule is as follows:

• Monday, Jan. 10: 7th pd. exam, regular schedule
• Tuesday, Jan. 11: 1st and 2nd pd. exams, 12:30 dismissal (no lunch)
• Wednesday, Jan. 12: 3rd and 4th pd. exams, 12:30 dismissal
• Thursday, Jan. 13: 5th and 6th pd. exams, 12:30 dismissal
• Friday, Jan. 14: No School

The science exam will cover only the energy unit. Students have all the materials they need in their interactive notebooks to review at home. This information consists of 5 notepages and a quiz on each notepage (the last quiz was cumulative and covered Notepages #1-#4 as an exam review) with the exception of Notepage #5. A study guide for this notepage has been added to the "Content" link in Blackboard.
5th and 7th period pre-AP students must have their science fair board complete and ready to be graded by Monday, Jan. 10.

Homework this week is as follows:

• Monday night: Read Notepage #1: Potential v. Kinetic Energy and review additional information and quiz
• Tuesday night: Read Notepage #2: Nonrenewable Energy: Fossil Fuels and review additional info and quiz
• Wednesday night: Read Notepage #3: Renewable Energy and review additional info and quiz
• Thursday night: Read Notepage #4: Energy Transformations and review additional information.
• Friday night: Read Notepage #5: Earth's Budget of Energy and review study guide answers
• The night before the exam: Review Notepage #1-#4 Quiz information (students were to make note of information they got incorrect on this cumulative test) and review notepages as needed.
