Forecasting Snow...

We looked at the prognostication map from the University of Wisconsin super computer in class on Wednesday to make our own forecast for the predicted bad weather. We also put ourselves in the place of Dr. Lange in trying to decide what we would do if we were in her shoes... You can look for yourself to see if anything has changed. Go to http://www.aos.wisc.edu/weather/content/mrf_model/, then click on the Surface level G211 selections for the maps. Remember that Z time is Universal Time, so subtract 5 hours. (0Z is 12 midnight, so 0Z Friday, December 17 is really 7pm Thursday, December 16 for us!) Don't forget to look at the "540" line which predicts whether our moisture will be rain or snow.
