This LAST Week in Science: June 1-4, 2010

The field trip today was the perfect way to review and gain a better understanding of water and watersheds. We got to experience a little bit of almost everything we've discussed in class.

This week we will finish our study of water. As stated below, I'm not taking up the books (another one appeared on my desk today...). There will be homework Tuesday night and Wednesday night in preparation for next week's exam.

I'm working on a study guide asap...

Spring Hollow/Camp Roanoke Field Trip

Today at Camp Roanoke Grace found a salamander and held it briefly for the class to see.
We gathered macroinvertebrates in a net and found lots of stoneflies and mayflies, a sign that the creek is clean.
Although the Spring Hollow Dam was unavailable, we were lucky to get to see the pump house, with probably everyone's favorite event, cleaning the screens.
