May 3-7: This Week in Science

This week we will complete our unit on weather. On Monday we'll review the characteristics of high and low pressure and complete a graphic organizer study guide. Students will have a quiz on these characteristics on Tuesday. We'll complete the unit by pulling it all together as we learn how to read and interpret weather maps.

This week we will also continue to go outside daily as we observe the weather and weed, water, and document the progress of our gardens. Our worms seem to be fat, fine, and healthy, living on a diet of tea and coffee grounds and vegetable trimmings. Tomorrow they get a treat of sweet mango peelings. Our seedlings are growing at an incredible rate, and with the official frost date past, students may soon be bringing home their plants to transplant. More information on that later.

The interim mid-point is this week, so interim grades will be posted in all students' interactive notebook, with D's and F's to be mailed home.
