April 26-30: This Week in Science

We will continue our weather mini-unit this week. I love weather and everything associated with it (even teaching about it), so I am planning a real hands-on power unit. The students began reading about air pressure last week, the defining factor determining weather, and I will supply a handful of very important handouts which will serve as the foundation for our study. The rest will be conducted outdoors. What better way to learn the weather than to experience it first-hand every day? I do worry that some students may underestimate their need to study and gain understanding of the handouts which will explain our outdoor observations, so I encourage you to review the handouts frequently with your child at home. They can be found under the Class Handouts link on this page. (as soon as I get them there...)
